Joe Arlt owns and operates the NOVA RENC. Joe operates the club with a high degree of integrity and make every effort to provide a valuable experience to the club members. To that end, he brings in (mostly local) speakers that provide content and value to the club members.
Most REIAs bring in out of state speakers to make money and support the club. However, if the vision of the speaker is not congruent with the mission of the club, they will forgo the short term revenue to build relationships with the REIA members instead. That’s their philosophy and they stick to it.
In all truth, while the REIA brings in some revenue from memberships and vendors, it doesn’t come any where near paying for the expenses needed to host the events, update the website, create promotions or the time involved to manage it. This does make a lot of money, but, it’s not about making money off the people in the REIA – it’s about making money with the people in the REIA!
About Mr. Arlt:
Joe Arlt has held financial and managerial positions with top companies such as PepsiCo, GE Capital, Trafalgar House plc (Cunard Cruise Lines, etc.), and Reed Elsevier (Lexis/Nexis, etc.). A Certified Public Accountant (Connecticut, inactive), he holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1988) and a B.S. in Accounting from Southern Connecticut State University (cum laude, 1984).
In 1996 Joe began acquiring residential properties on a part-time basis and was able to go full-time the following year. He has owned or co-owned approximately 600 single family homes, most of them located in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and the Carolinas.
Joe Arlt is an active educator in the field of real estate investing, participating in seminars as a speaker and instructor. He enjoys volunteering as Treasurer and a Director of the Tidewater Real Estate Investors Group (www.trigofva.com), the area’s largest real estate investors association. Joe is a specialist in the field of creative and seller financing and is the author of Wrap Your Way to Wealth: How to Achieve Long-Term Wealth, Cash Flow, and Financial Independence Through the Creation of Wraparound Mortgages, a comprehensive audio program geared toward beginning and experienced real estate investors alike. He is featured in a number of books, newsletters and articles concerning real estate and investing. Joe was honored to have been selected as one of 21 North American investors profiled in the New York Times bestselling book The Millionaire Real Estate Investor, by Gary Keller, Co-Founder and Chairman of Keller Williams Realty International.
Joe has been a successful real estate agent since 1997 and is a Sales Associate with Realty Professionals Plus, Inc. in Virginia Beach. His honors include the Hampton Roads Realtor Association’s Circle of Excellence Platinum Award, the Association’s highest level award. He has been first runner-up for the Association’s “Most Transaction Sides” designation.
